The program evokes both the call of distant places, the rediscovery of familiar landscapes, and the beauty of home—an especially resonant theme for these two expatriate Acadian artists.
The recital unfolds through poetic works in French, English, and German, and is evenly divided between works by male and female composers, including Pauline Viardot, Lili Boulanger, Robert Schumann, and Francis Poulenc.
